The Mr Cape Town Pride 2010 and Miss Cape Town Pride 2010 pageant will be held at a glittering community function on Saturday 20 February, commencing at 7.30pm, at the Joseph Stone Auditorium in Athlone.
The winners of the Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride 2010 titles will represent the Mother City’s lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgendered and intersex community during the Pride Festival, taking place from 26 February until 7 March. They will also represent Cape Town Pride at other official functions during the year.
"This year we're taking the pageant to new heights with the support and teamwork of all communities who have been working in partnership to deliver an evening of true Cape Town fabulosity", said Luiz Delaja, organiser of the pageant and deputy festival director of Cape Town Pride.
The winner of the Mr Cape Town Pride title will also win an entry to the finals of the Mr Gay South Africa contest, while this year’s Miss Cape Town Pride will be one of the finalists in the Miss Gay Western Cape pageant.
The hunky Charl van den Berg, recently crowned Mr Gay South Africa, will make a guest appearance on stage and a line-up of dynamic and prominent personalities will act as judges. Included in the live entertainment will be the distinctive sounds of Claire Philips and Mathew Moolman.
Tickets for the Cape Town Pride 2010 Pageant cost R30 (VIP Tickets R50) and are available from the Cape Town Pride office, located at 4A Dixon Street at the Cape Quarters centre in Greenpoint, and selected outlets.
